SUMMARY:Autumn at the Village
DESCRIPTION:The Ozaukee County Historical Society brings you the sights\, smells and sounds of fall at their Autumn at the Village fall festival on Saturday\, Oct. 5th at Ozaukee County Pioneer Village in Saukville.  Enjoy a great day in the country that is fun for the whole family.\n\nVisitors will see historic demonstrations of blacksmithing\, wood cutting\, basket making\, wool making\, candle making\, spinning\, corn shelling and embroidery to name a few. The smells of mulled cider\, seasonal foods cooking on the wood stove and bread baking in the Summer Kitchen will fill the air. Poul and Linda Sanderson from\, Pickin' Up Speed will demonstrate old time instruments such as an auto-harp\, dulcimer and stand up bass to play a few tunes. Special guests from Old World Wisconsin will demonstrate drying fruits and vegetables among the things folks did to get ready for winter.\n\nEveryone can take part in a 15-minute wagon ride\, compliments of the Wisconsin Antique Power Reunion\, through Hawthorne Hills Park. Pumpkins\, squash\, gourds\, apples and hand-made brooms will be available for sale.\n\nChildren can participate in craft activities which will include\, rope making\, corn-husk doll making\, wooden puzzle making\, stamp art\, weaving and more. The Oscar Grady Library of Saukville will provide spooky stories and Halloween legends in the Liberty Schoolhouse. \n\nFinally\, families can relax and enjoy a warm bowl of homemade sausage stew\, chili with cornbread or chicken with dumpling soup.
