DESCRIPTION:Join us as Bridge the Divide begins our lecture series "From Good Will to Good Work" which will take us from our isolated\, homogeneous suburbs to equitable\, interconnected place for all of us to thrive\, as global citizens\, together. These four\, interactive sessions will allow for self-reflection and interpersonal discussions about unconscious bias\, perceptions vs. lived experiences\, facilitating cross-cultural relationships\, and countering prejudice and fear.\n\nFREE - register here - https://bridge_the_divide_from_good_will_to_good_work.eventbrite.com \n\nLecture #4 - Tues\, June 11th 6 pm - How People of Conscience Can Create a Just Society\n\nThroughout history there have always been white people who supported the struggles of African Americans and other marginalized groups to realize America's promise of liberty and justice for all. This talk introduces us to white people of conscience past and present\, providing role models and guidance for those of us who wish to learn from their examples. (Suggested Donations of $10.00 are appreciated)\n\nDr. Fran Kaplan and Reggie Jackson of Nurturing Diversity Partners\, are nationally-known educators/speakers/consultants that will provide expertise in anti-bias and experiential pedagogy\, historical literacy and cultural competency. The lectures will also feature Sherrill Knezel of Meaning Marks LLC \, specializing in live graphic recording for visual literacy - her images will capture the essence of our journey "From Good Will to Good Work."\n\nSponsored by: WHC *\; Bridge the Divide\; Nurturing Diversity Partners\; Concordia University (The Black Student Union)\; Meaningful Marks LLC\n\n*Funded in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council\, with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
