DESCRIPTION:Join us as Bridge the Divide begins our lecture series "From Good Will to Good Work" which will take us from our isolated\, homogeneous suburbs to equitable\, interconnected place for all of us to thrive\, as global citizens\, together. These four\, interactive sessions will allow for self-reflection and interpersonal discussions about unconscious bias\, perceptions vs. lived experiences\, facilitating cross-cultural relationships\, and countering prejudice and fear.\n\nFREE - register here - https://bridge_the_divide_from_good_will_to_good_work.eventbrite.com \n\nLecture #3 - Tues\, May 28th 6 pm - Raising Suburban Kids for Success in a Multicultural Democracy\n\nThough many of us are raising white kids in predominantly affluent white communities\, they will live their adult lives in a highly connected\, very racially and culturally diverse globalized society. This talk examines questions like: How are our schools preparing kids for a diverse and inclusive society? How can we as parents and grandparents help suburban children understand\, relate well to\, and collaborate with people whose lived experiences\, perspectives\, and styles differ from their own? (Suggested Donations of $10.00 are appreciated)\n\nDr. Fran Kaplan and Reggie Jackson of Nurturing Diversity Partners\, are nationally-known educators/speakers/consultants that will provide expertise in anti-bias and experiential pedagogy\, historical literacy and cultural competency.
