SUMMARY:The Value of Art
DESCRIPTION:Creating art can be transformative\, especially for individuals who utilize art for therapeutic or developmental purposes. This exhibition showcases individuals who utilize art as therapy or for developmental\, personal expression. A multitude of social agencies in our county that do artistic projects with special needs clients were contacted to participate. The COVID-19 pandemic played an unfortunate role in limiting the number of agencies that could contribute. Kerry Pratt of Art Oasis\, LLC\, K ren Cohen of Balance\, Inc.\, and Renee Schreiner of Portal\, Inc. persevered in creative ways with artistic opportunities for clients despite setbacks and challenges while Gina Studelska of the Ozaukee County Jail Literacy Project\, Inc. saved earlier artworks that predated the pandemic. These four agencies are proudly showing more than 60 artworks of their clients in this heart-warming presentation. Kohler Foundation\, Inc. graciously provided support for framing and presentation expenses.
