He began his career on the streets of Dublin\, Ireland\, as a busker\, and from there moved on to\n\nperforming in the subways and streets of Boston\, Massachusetts. This led to his first record deal and a leap to\n\nfull-time national and international touring\, beginning in the early Nineties.\n\n\n\nMulvey is an iconoclast within the singer/songwriter world.  Restless and inventive\, he has made seventeen records\,\n\nspanning rock and roll\, folk\, Jazz\, spoken word\, and Americana.\n\n\n\nMulvey continues to tour\, playing over a hundred shows a year as he has for the past twenty five years. This is the core of what\n\nhe does: music\, in a room\, performed for a live audience.\n\n\n\nThough Katie currently makes her home in rural Door County\, Wisconsin\, she travels extensively\, playing intimate house concerts as well as established venues like Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music. Richly steeped in the folk songwriter tradition\, Katie navigates the muddy waters between the personal and the public with the skill of a writer twice her age. She is equally adept at writing about the intricacies of a complicated relationship (without being indulgent or myopic) and taking on the threat of chain restaurants to her own small community (without being polarizing or didactic).
